Brightly Colored Resins
Before we created our colored resins, we first developed our Crystal Clear Transparent Resin so that our colored resins would result in saturated colors like Clear Blue Water (Azzurro), Rich Golds, and Intense Browns. The result is a perfect union of crystal clear resin and amazing transparent colors. The combination of a tinted resin with encased materials like wood creates an instant visual impact that allows the eye to see the interaction of the colored resin with the inserted object.
Our colored resins use a special dye that was tested to be suitable for use in castings of Low, Medium, and High Thickness Resins.

Wood ObjectThe colored dyes used in our resins are unique because they react with a hardener to develop a hard surface. This is unlike other inks that can soften the surface or create defects.
The amount of tinting dyes needed will depend on the intensity of the color you want to achieve. In general, the thicker the mould or casting, the smaller amount of tinting dyes are needed to make the final color. For a thickness of 2 to 3 cm, we suggest to use about 2% of the dye, but this can be changed to make your desired color.
The dye pigments developed by Cromas offer vivid colors to create unique transparent shades:
91007 ULTRAMARINE BLUE
91008 SOLAR YELLOW – ideal for making gold effects
91013 SCARLET RED – extremely vivid and transparent
91019 AQUAMARINE – ideal to make water colors
91020 SMOKY QUARTZ – black pigment that is ideal for Burnished and Smoked effects
91023 AMBER BROWN – warm brown color
These pigments can be used alone or mixed together to obtain new colors, such as green and purple.
These colored resins can also be used to make multicoloured castings where you see the unmixed colours in layers.

The mixing of colored pigments or dyes with epoxy resins is a simple process for professionals, crafts people, and DIY users. But we recommend that you always carry out application tests before the production of products or starting the project.
We suggest that you refer to the instructions in the technical data sheet for the resins you will use in your application. Our advice is based on our extensive research and testing. Because there are many factors in the application process, it is always advisable to test each product before moving on to the production stage.
