Transforming a surface in something that looks antiqued and oxidized, with a rusty and corten effect for example, is one of the most frequent requests that we receive at Cromas’ Research&Development laboratory, that for this reason developed a unique and complete range of oxidized metal effect paints.
Oxidized metal materic effect paints are divided mainly into two big categories: real oxidation effect paints, where metal dusts and microspheres are oxidized on the surface and paints that imitate the oxidized effect, where the oxidation is created through the use of pigments, microspheres and other components that provide a realistic texture to sight and tact.
Paints with real oxidation have the following characteristics:
- Maximum realistic effect
- Every surface has a real and unique oxidation
- More steps cycle
- Limited outdoor resistance
While the paints that imitate the oxidation have the following main characteristics:
- Simplicity of application and look reproducibility
- Fast cycle with a few steps
- Good or optimal outdoor resistance (to elements and UV radiations)
Following, there are our main effects. By clicking on the link you can directly visit the page of the effect of your interest:
Rust effect paint: real oxidation of the iron, completely realistic to sight and tact
Corten effect paint: simulated imitation of Cor-Ten steel, suitable for indoor and outdoor
Verdigris effect paint: simulated imitation of the verdigris, suitable for indoor and outdoor
Verdigris effect paint: real copper oxidation
Antique brass effect paint: real brass oxidation (copper alloy)
Ancient bronze effect paint: real oxidation with bronze, rust and verdigris
Rusty shades effect paint (Rusty Shades), faux oxidation
